# Delete or disconnect your account

## Overview

The Account settings tab in Interlinked AI includes destructive actions that permanently affect your account. These actions — account deletion and Google disconnection — are intentionally separate from everyday settings because they have significant consequences for your access, data, and account continuity.

This article explains what each action does, when you might use it, what happens to your data, and the confirmation steps involved.

## Delete your account

Account deletion permanently removes your Interlinked AI account and associated data.

### What account deletion does

When you delete your account:

- Your account is **permanently removed** from Interlinked AI
- Your AI agent configuration, workspace settings, and associated data are deleted
- Your CRM history, conversations, lead records, and order data are affected
- Your subscription is canceled (if you have an active paid plan)
- Your billing relationship through Stripe is terminated
- You will no longer receive any communications from Interlinked AI

### Before you delete

Before proceeding with account deletion, consider the following:

1. **Active subscription** — If you have an active paid subscription, deleting your account cancels it. Depending on your billing term, you may lose access to time you have already paid for. There is no refund for unused subscription time after deletion.

2. **Outstanding payments** — If you have pending overage charges or unpaid invoices, those may still need to be settled. Review your [billing status](/en/resources/docs/billing-and-subscription-management) and [invoice history](/en/resources/docs/payment-methods-and-invoices) before deleting.

3. **Business data** — Your AI agent, product catalog, customer conversations, CRM entries, order history, and calendar data are all tied to your account. Deletion affects all of this.

4. **Connected channels** — Your Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp connections are configured through your account. Deletion removes these integrations.

5. **Team access** — If other users (such as employees) have access to your workspace through your account, they will lose access when the account is deleted.

### How to delete your account

To delete your Interlinked AI account:

1. Navigate to **Settings** → **Account settings** at `https://panel.interlinked-ai.com/en/settings?tab=account`
2. Scroll to the **Delete account** section
3. Click the **Delete account** action
4. Read the confirmation warning carefully
5. Confirm the deletion when prompted

The process includes **confirmation steps** to prevent accidental deletion. You will be asked to explicitly confirm that you understand the consequences before the deletion is processed.

### After deletion

Once your account is deleted:

- You will be signed out of the Interlinked AI panel
- You will not be able to sign in with the same credentials
- Your data will not be recoverable through self-service
- If you want to use Interlinked AI again in the future, you would need to create an entirely new account

## Disconnect Google

If your account was created using Google sign-in, the Account settings tab may include an option to disconnect your Google account.

### What Google disconnection does

Disconnecting your Google account changes how authentication works for your Interlinked AI account:

- Your Interlinked AI account is **no longer linked** to your Google identity
- You can no longer use the "Sign in with Google" flow to access your account
- You may need to set up an alternative authentication method (email and password) to maintain access

### When to use Google disconnection

You might consider disconnecting Google if:

- **You want to switch to email/password authentication** — Perhaps your Google account is changing (for example, you are leaving a Google Workspace organization) and you want to maintain access through a direct login
- **You want to separate your Google and Interlinked AI identities** — For privacy or organizational reasons, you may prefer not to have your Google account linked
- **You are troubleshooting authentication issues** — In some cases, disconnecting and reconnecting Google can resolve sign-in problems

### How to disconnect Google

To disconnect your Google account:

1. Navigate to **Settings** → **Account settings** at `https://panel.interlinked-ai.com/en/settings?tab=account`
2. Locate the **Google disconnection** option
3. Click the disconnect action
4. Confirm when prompted

  <p>Before disconnecting Google, make sure you have an alternative way to sign in to your Interlinked AI account. If Google is your only authentication method and you disconnect it without setting up email/password authentication first, you may lock yourself out of your account.</p>

### After disconnecting Google

- Your Interlinked AI account remains active — disconnection is not the same as deletion
- Your data, subscription, and configurations are preserved
- You will need to use an alternative authentication method to sign in
- Your profile image may revert to a default avatar since it was inherited from Google
- You can reconnect Google later if you choose to

## Privacy and data protection

When you delete your account or disconnect Google, Interlinked AI follows its data handling practices:

- **Deletion requests are processed responsibly** — When you delete your account, data removal follows the platform's data handling policies
- **Google disconnection does not affect Google** — Disconnecting on the Interlinked AI side does not modify anything in your Google account
- **Billing data** — Stripe may retain billing records according to Stripe's own data retention policies, even after your Interlinked AI account is deleted. This is standard practice for payment processors and is required for financial compliance
