# Review product import history

## What Product History is for

Open **Products** and select **History** to review catalog imports saved by the
workspace. History helps you continue an import after leaving the review
screen, understand what happened to a file, and find the result or error report
without uploading the same file again.

History is separate from the active **Catalog**. A file can appear in History
while it is still being prepared, waiting for review, or processing for AI. The
active catalog changes only after the import flow reaches its confirmation
step.

## What each history row shows

An import row can include:

- File name, upload date, and file size;
- Total products found in the file;
- The current import status; and
- Warnings, errors, or a result summary when the panel has finished processing.

The panel can use labels such as **Preparing**, **Ready to review**,
**Saving**, **Processing for AI**, **Complete**, **Interrupted**, and
**Closed**. These describe the saved import’s stage, not necessarily whether
every product is currently active.

## Continue or inspect an import

Select the action shown on the row:

| Action | Use it for |
| --- | --- |
| **Resume review** | Return to a saved staged import and continue mapping or correcting rows. |
| **Check status** | Refresh the result of an import that is still processing. |
| **View result** | Inspect the completed import summary and any warnings. |
| **Recover** | Continue an interrupted import when the panel offers recovery. |
| **Download error report** | Save the CSV report when the import has row-level errors. |
| **Load older imports** | Fetch earlier history rows when they are not in the first list. |

If an import is **Closed**, its history record is read-only. Start a new import
when the panel no longer offers a resume or recovery action.

## Restore a previous catalog version

Some completed imports offer **Restore previous version**. Read the warning
before confirming: restoring replaces the live catalog with the snapshot from
before that import. The panel creates a safety backup of the current catalog
first.

Use restore when you need to undo the effect of a completed import and the
available snapshot is the version you actually want. Do not use it as a way to
preview a file; use the staged review flow for that. After restoring, check the
Catalog view and recheck product images separately.

Restoring changes the active catalog. Confirm the snapshot date and keep the current catalog backup available before proceeding.

## If History is empty or an import fails

An empty History view means there are no saved imports available in the current
workspace context. Confirm that you are in the correct organization before
starting another upload.

For a failed or interrupted import, open its row, read the status and error
details, and use **Resume review**, **Recover**, or **Download error report** if
available. For the full mapping and confirmation flow, see [Review and confirm
a product import](/en/resources/docs/review-and-confirm-product-import).

## What to do next

- **Prepare a new file** — Follow [Prepare your product catalog](/en/resources/docs/prepare-your-product-catalog).
- **Review the active catalog** — Return to [Products overview](/en/resources/docs/products-overview).
- **Fix media after import** — Use [Manage product images](/en/resources/docs/manage-product-images).
