# Services overview

## What the Services catalog is for

Open **Services** in the Operations section of the panel. Services is the catalog for what your team offers when a customer needs an appointment, a quote, a direct purchase, or a conversation with a person.

The catalog is separate from product orders. A service can use scheduling, intake questions, a price, a deposit, payment methods, a customer address, manual confirmation, or a handoff depending on how you configure its journey.

</div>

## Read the Services page

The page includes:

- **All**, **Active**, and **Drafts** views;
- search, filter, sort, refresh, and More options controls;
- a **New service** action;
- a table with Service, Status, Journey, Price, AI, and Requests information; and
- a **View requests** action that opens Service Requests.

Service statuses can include **Active**, **Draft**, **Inactive**, **Archived**, or **Review**. An active service is visible to the configured agent only when the rest of its journey is ready.

## What a service can accomplish

When you create or edit a service, choose the outcome that matches the customer’s intended result:

| Outcome | Customer journey |
| --- | --- |
| **Book an appointment** | The customer chooses an available time and configured attendance option. |
| **Request a quote** | The agent collects the required information and your team or configured pricing rule prepares the quote. |
| **Buy directly** | The customer confirms a known service and supported payment method. |
| **Talk to your team** | The agent gathers context and hands the request to an authorized teammate. |

The outcome controls which pricing, calendar, payment, and question fields appear in the setup wizard.

## Keep service catalog and service requests distinct

Services describes what you offer. **Service Requests** shows customer conversations and requests created from those service journeys. Editing a service does not delete existing requests. Read [Service Requests overview](/en/resources/docs/service-requests-overview) for the operational queue.

## Prepare the dependencies

Before activating an appointment service, connect Google Calendar and select a calendar or resource. For in-person appointments, add a location with an address and business hours. If a service collects payment, configure an eligible method in [Customer payments](/en/resources/docs/customer-payments-overview).

For the complete setup, continue with [Create and configure a service](/en/resources/docs/create-and-configure-a-service), then [Review service readiness and activation](/en/resources/docs/service-readiness-and-activation).
