# Use the top bar and profile menu

## Overview

The top bar and profile menu provide global navigation controls in the Interlinked panel. They are useful when you need to open Settings, confirm account context, access profile-level actions, or move between organizations when your account has more than one.

The exact menu items can vary by account state and permissions, but the profile menu is the safest place to look for account-level actions that are not tied to a single product module.

## What belongs in the profile menu

Use the profile menu for actions such as:

- Opening **Settings**
- Checking which account is signed in
- Reaching organization or workspace switching controls when available
- Accessing sign-out or account-level actions

Settings is the main destination for usage, billing, account profile, security, notifications, and authentication-related controls. See [Settings overview](/en/resources/docs/settings-overview).

## Navigation vs product areas

The top bar is global navigation. Product work still happens inside the area that owns the task:

| Task | Product area |
|------|--------------|
| Review or take over conversations | CRM |
| Change AI behavior | AI Config |
| Manage orders | Orders |
| Manage appointment availability | Calendar |
| Manage subscription or account settings | Settings |

If you are trying to change business behavior, such as workflow, greeting, product catalog, business context, or channel setup, use AI Config rather than the profile menu.

## Workspace context

If you manage more than one organization, always confirm workspace context before changing settings or interpreting dashboard activity. Switching organizations can change which conversations, orders, calendar settings, and account data you are viewing. See [Switch organizations](/en/resources/docs/switch-organizations).
