# Open the onboarding wizard

## When the onboarding wizard appears

The onboarding wizard opens automatically the first time you sign in to Interlinked. You do not need to look for it or navigate to a specific page — it is the first screen you see after creating your account.

The wizard lives at `panel.interlinked-ai.com/en/wizard` (or `/es/wizard` for Spanish). This is a dedicated page within the Interlinked panel that is separate from the dashboard.

  <p>The wizard keeps appearing every time you sign in until you fully complete it and click <strong>Publish</strong>. You cannot skip it, dismiss it, or navigate to the dashboard until the wizard is finished. This is intentional — the wizard sets up the AI agent that will handle conversations with your customers.</p>

## What the onboarding wizard does

The onboarding wizard guides you through configuring your AI agent in a structured, step-by-step flow. By the end of the wizard, your AI agent will know:

- **Who you are** — Your company name, industry, website, and social media presence.
- **How to talk** — The communication style and greeting message your AI agent will use when contacting customers.
- **What to sell or offer** — Your product catalog or service menu that the AI uses to answer customer questions.
- **How to handle conversations** — The workflow that defines how the AI guides customers through purchases, appointments, or inquiries.
- **Where to answer** — The messaging channels (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook Messenger) where the AI will be active.

All of this is configured through a series of guided steps. You do not need technical knowledge or coding skills.

## How navigation works

The onboarding wizard uses **linear navigation**. This means you move through the steps one at a time, in order:

- **Continue** — Saves your current step and moves to the next one.
- **Go Back** — Returns to the previous step so you can review or change your answers.
- **Step indicator** — A progress bar or step counter at the top shows where you are in the process.

  <p>The onboarding wizard does not have a sidebar for jumping between steps. That feature is available in the <a href="/en/resources/docs/edit-your-setup-from-ai-config">AI Config wizard</a>, which you can use after completing onboarding. The onboarding wizard is designed to guide you sequentially so you do not miss any critical configuration.</p>

You can go backward and forward freely. If you change your workflow selection in step 2, the wizard automatically adjusts the remaining steps to match your new selection. For example, if you switch from a retail workflow to a service workflow, calendar-related steps will appear and shipping-related steps will disappear.

## Draft mode and saving

Most AI configuration you set during the onboarding wizard is saved as a **draft**. Product catalog uploads are the exception and apply immediately. This means:

- **Your progress is automatically saved** — Each time you click **Continue**, the wizard saves that step's data. If you close your browser and come back later, you will resume from where you left off.
- **Nothing goes live until you publish** — Your AI agent remains inactive during the entire onboarding process. It will not respond to any customer messages until you reach the final step, connect at least one channel, and click **Publish**.
- **You can change your mind on draft settings** — You can go back and change previous configuration steps without affecting the live AI agent until you publish. Product uploads, replacements, additions, and clearing actions update the product catalog immediately.

  <p><strong>Tip</strong></p>
  <p>Take your time with the wizard. There is no rush to complete it in one sitting. Your draft is saved between sessions, so you can close the browser and return to the wizard whenever you are ready to continue.</p>

## What steps to expect

The wizard adapts its steps based on the workflow you choose, but the general structure always follows this order:

1. **Company information and agent identity** — Tell the wizard about your business and how you want the AI to communicate.
2. **Choose a workflow** — Select the conversation flow that matches how your business operates (retail or service).
3. **Workflow-specific steps** — Additional configuration steps that depend on your chosen workflow. These might include shipping rules, store locations, calendar settings, qualification questions, or bank account details.
4. **Upload your product catalog** — Add the products or services that the AI will use to answer customer questions.
5. **Add business context** — Provide any extra instructions, rules, or information the AI should know.
6. **Connect channels** — Link your WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook Messenger accounts.
7. **Publish and go live** — Review your configuration and activate the AI agent.

## If you need to leave and come back

You can safely close the wizard at any time. When you sign back in, the wizard will reopen at the same step where you left off. All your previous answers are preserved.

The only way to exit the wizard permanently is to complete all steps and click **Publish**. After publishing, the wizard will no longer appear, and you will be redirected to the dashboard.
