Configure an agent after onboarding
Update an existing Interlinked agent from My Agents, review draft changes, and keep the live configuration safe until you publish.
Open the agent you want to change
- In the panel, open My Agents under AI & Automation.
- Select the agent you want to update.
- Use Guided configuration when you want to step through the business questions again, or use the settings sections on the agent page for a focused change.
Follow the labels visible in My Agents. The current panel keeps agent setup and focused settings under the selected agent rather than a separate configuration area in the sidebar.

Choose the right editing surface
The agent page groups focused settings into these sections:
| Section | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Apps | Review connected services and assign available customer channels. |
| Work | Choose or review the agent’s workflow. |
| Catalog | Choose the product or service information the agent can use. |
| Voice | Adjust communication style, response length, and greeting. |
| Abilities | Enable customer-facing actions and review their safeguards. |
| Knowledge | Add or review information the agent should use when answering. |
| Governance | Review boundaries, approvals, and operating rules. |
Use Manage agent abilities and governance for the settings that control what the agent may do, not just how it sounds.
Understand the draft state
Changes to an existing agent are saved to its draft. While unpublished changes exist:
- The Unpublished changes notice shows that the live agent keeps running with its current configuration.
- Review & Publish opens the change review before replacing the live configuration.
- Discard Changes resets the draft to the live configuration after confirmation, when a live baseline exists.
Publishing updates the configuration used by the agent, but it does not automatically turn the agent on or off. If the agent is currently off, it remains off; if it is active, it remains active unless the launch operation or a separate status action changes it.
Safe editing pattern
Make one focused change, review the pending changes, publish it, and then watch the relevant conversations in CRM. This makes it easier to connect a customer-facing result to the setting you changed.
Catalog and channel changes are separate
Product imports are reviewed in Products, not treated as an unreviewed side effect of an agent draft. Use Review and confirm a product import before changing a catalog in bulk.
Channel connection and assignment are managed from Channels & Integrations and the agent’s Apps settings. Use Manage connected channels when the question is about a connection, assignment, or reconnection rather than the agent’s general behavior.
What to do next
After editing, use Review agent readiness. When every required item is complete, follow Publish and activate an AI agent.
