Meta has its own AI agent inside the WhatsApp Business app. It launched first in Mexico as Business AI and is now called Meta Business Agent. For many small businesses it's enough; here's when, and when you need more.

How we measure: the horizontal axis counts six sale steps the tool does on its own in the chat: answer from your information, show products with photos, build the cart, create the order, send the payment link and confirm the payment. Yes counts 1, partial ½ and undocumented 0. The vertical axis adds channels (up to 8) and native integrations by tier.

What does Meta's agent do well?
It learns from your past chats, your catalog, your website and your documents; it answers questions, recommends products, books on Google Calendar and hands the chat to you. It lives inside the app, with nothing to integrate.

Does it build orders or take payment?
Meta doesn't document its agent building carts, creating orders or sending payment links. In Interlinked AI the agent builds the cart, the customer confirms and payment is taken by Stripe or bank transfer.

Can a team use it?
The app allows up to four linked devices, but turning Meta's agent on disconnects the ones you have. Interlinked AI has an inbox with users, roles and assignment.

What happens to the conversations?
Meta says it uses chats where its agent is active to improve its AI, and your customers see a notice. In Interlinked AI, replies come from GPT models on Azure OpenAI and Gemini models on Google's API; our security page explains what happens to your data.

Does it work on Instagram and Messenger?
Meta announced its agent is coming to Messenger and Instagram; an inbox that brings them together isn't documented. In Interlinked AI all three channels land in the same inbox.

Can I control what it does?
Meta lets you pause it and choose which chats come to you. In Interlinked AI you also decide which actions wait for your approval and test changes as a draft before publishing them.
If you switch
Moving from Meta's agent to Interlinked AI
You connect your number through Meta's official signup and keep using the WhatsApp Business app on the same number. Your chat history is imported when you connect. Before publishing the Interlinked AI agent, turn off Meta's agent in the app so two AIs don't reply.

Questions about Meta Business Agent
- What is Meta Business Agent?
- Meta's AI agent for businesses, inside the WhatsApp Business app. It reached Mexico in November 2025 under the name Business AI.
- Is WhatsApp Business's AI free?
- Meta said in June 2026 that getting started is free, and in September it launched Meta One, with plans from US$14.99 a month that give more access to the agent. Whether a free tier remains isn't confirmed.
- Is it available in my country?
- Meta announced a global expansion in June 2026, but its help center says it's available in some countries and to some businesses, with a waitlist.
- Can I use both at the same time?
- On the same number, two AIs would reply. If you switch, turn off Meta's agent before publishing the Interlinked AI one.
- Does Meta's agent send payment links?
- Meta doesn't document it as a feature of its agent in the app.
