Direct answer

Use Add product when you need to add one product manually without replacing the full catalog. The product appears in the Products table immediately, and the live AI agent receives the updated catalog data.

When to add a product manually

Manual product entry is best for:

  • Small catalog changes.
  • Urgent additions.
  • Adding one product at a time.
  • Filling a missing product before the next full catalog refresh.

For large updates, use Upload a product catalog or Replace catalog instead.

Fields you can enter

The Add product form supports standard product fields such as product name, price, stock, and SKU. Depending on your current catalog structure, you can also add or fill custom fields that match the attributes already used in your catalog.

Examples of useful custom fields include category, description, color, size, flavor, material, brand, compatibility, or shipping notes.

Tip

Use the same field names and value style as your existing catalog. Consistent attributes make product search and table search easier to understand.

After adding a product

After the product is saved:

  • It appears in the Products table immediately.
  • The live catalog is updated immediately.
  • AI search preparation may take a short time before the AI can reliably find the new product through semantic searches.

For most catalogs, preparation should complete within a few minutes. If the catalog is very large or the product has extensive detail, allow more time before testing every customer question.

Review before relying on the AI

After adding a product manually, confirm:

  • The product name is customer-facing and easy to recognize.
  • Price and stock are correct.
  • SKU is present or has been generated.
  • Important attributes match the rest of your catalog.
  • The description is factual and useful for customer conversations.
