Manage product images

Use the Products media view to find missing images, process catalog URLs, upload a folder matched by SKU, and replace individual product images.

Open the Media view

Open Products and select the Media tab. The media view summarizes image coverage and lists products by image state. You can search by name or SKU and filter by All, Ready, Missing, External, Processing, or Failed.

The coverage summary distinguishes images ready in the product library, external URLs, and products without an image. The product row can also show whether the image is stored or remains external. The source label describes the current media state; it does not change the product’s catalog data.

Process catalog image URLs

If products contain external image URLs, select Process catalog URLs. The panel starts processing the eligible URLs and shows a progress state. It may report that processing is unavailable; in that case, the external URLs remain active and you can retry later.

Processing does not undo saved products. A product can remain in the catalog while its image is still processing or has failed.

Upload a folder matched by SKU

Select Upload folder and choose a folder containing JPEG, PNG, or WebP files up to 8 MB. The image filename should match the product SKU so the panel can match the file to the correct product.

The panel first opens a Folder review. Review the counts for matched, unmatched, unselected, and conflicting files. Only matched items can be uploaded from the review. Select Upload N images to start the transfer and follow the progress state.

If a file is unmatched, rename it to the correct SKU and start a new review. If a product is not selected for a storefront-specific media view, the panel may show it as unselected; that does not mean the product was deleted.

Replace one image

Find a product row and select Upload image or Replace image. Choose a JPEG, PNG, or WebP file. The panel uses the product SKU to associate the replacement with that product.

Use a consistent image style and a clear product view. If the image is only for the storefront, you can also open the store-specific media view from the storefront product controls.

Missing images do not always block publishing

The storefront flow can publish selected products while missing images use a neutral placeholder. That lets you launch a usable catalog and finish media work afterward, but complete images before relying on visual merchandising or customer-facing product browsing.

If a processing session reports Completed with errors, inspect the failed, unmatched, or conflict items and select Retry failures where available. For a product import that detected URLs or queued images, use Review and confirm a product import to understand the catalog result separately from the media result.
