Prepare your product catalog
Prepare a CSV or Excel product catalog for Interlinked with clear required fields, useful attributes, and consistent customer-facing data.
Start with one row per product
Prepare a CSV or Excel file with one product or variant per row and a clear heading for each field. Product name and price are the basic required values for the catalog import. Add stock and SKU whenever they apply to your operation.
Keep the original file as your source copy. The Products import flow lets you merge or replace after review, but a source file makes it easier to correct a future import or restore a known catalog manually.
Recommended fields
| Field | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Product name | Gives customers and your team a clear name to search and recognize. |
| Price | Lets the agent answer price questions and compare options. |
| Stock or availability | Helps the agent avoid presenting unavailable items as ready to buy. |
| SKU | Provides a stable identifier for review, media matching, and internal tracking. |
| Description | Adds the context customers use when they describe a need. |
| Category, brand, or tags | Helps organize the catalog and narrow recommendations. |
| Attributes | Adds details such as size, color, material, flavor, compatibility, or use case. |
The importer recognizes common heading variations, but consistent headings make the Review step easier to verify.
Match the data to your business
- A clothing store can include size, color, material, fit, and care instructions.
- A supplements store can include flavor, presentation, serving size, ingredients, and usage notes.
- A cosmetics store can include skin type, finish, shade, volume, and application notes.
- A hardware store can include measurements, material, compatibility, and recommended use.
Use concise, factual descriptions. Avoid unsupported medical, legal, or regulated-product claims, and do not upload products that violate applicable law or Interlinked policy.
Clean the file before uploading
- Use one consistent value style for currency, sizes, categories, and availability.
- Remove accidental blank rows, duplicate products, and test records.
- Keep product names customer-facing rather than internal shorthand.
- Make sure prices are current and interpreted in the intended currency.
- Keep SKUs unique when you use them.
- Include enough description and attributes for the questions customers actually ask.
Then use Upload a product catalog and inspect the staged rows before confirming the import.
