Replace or clear your catalog

Choose safely between merging, replacing, and clearing the Interlinked product catalog, and understand which actions remove active products.

Choose the action by intent

  • Merge with catalog keeps products that are not in the uploaded file while adding or updating the rows in the file.
  • Replace catalog makes the validated file the complete active catalog.
  • Clear catalog removes the current catalog without importing a replacement.

Use the first two choices from the staged Import catalog flow when you have a file. Use Clear catalog from Products → Catalog → More options only when you intentionally want no active products.

Replace catalog safely

  1. Select Import catalog and complete the file and review steps.
  2. On Confirm, choose Replace catalog.
  3. Read the counts for new, updated, unchanged, and removed products.
  4. Keep a copy of the source file and type the confirmation phrase exactly as shown.
  5. Select Replace catalog and wait for the result.

The active catalog changes only after the final confirmation. Products can be available before their images finish processing, so check Media separately.

Clear catalog safely

Select Clear catalog, read the confirmation dialog, and confirm only if the entire active catalog should be removed. Clearing removes the products the agent can use for product answers, orders, or the selected storefront. Keep your source file because the panel does not provide a simple undo for a cleared catalog.

Before a destructive catalog action

Confirm that you are in the correct workspace, export or retain the source file, and check whether an Online Store is using the products you are about to remove.

After the change

Review the Catalog view for names, prices, availability, and product count. If the agent needs to search the updated catalog, allow the panel to finish preparing the catalog and test representative customer questions. Read How the AI searches products for troubleshooting.
