Upload a product catalog
Learn how to upload a CSV or Excel product catalog in Interlinked, including supported formats, required fields, flexible column mapping, and upload locations.
Direct answer
You can upload a product catalog to Interlinked using a CSV or Excel file. Product name, price, and stock are required. SKU is recommended, and if it is missing, Interlinked can add or generate one automatically.
Product uploads update the live catalog immediately. There is no product draft mode, including when the upload happens inside the wizard.
Supported file formats
Interlinked supports catalog uploads from spreadsheet files:
| Format | Use it when |
|---|---|
CSV (.csv) | You want a simple product catalog that works across most spreadsheet tools |
Excel (.xlsx, .xls) | You manage your catalog in Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet application |
The wizard Products step includes a CSV template download button. Use the template if you do not already have a catalog file or if you want a clean structure before uploading.

Required and recommended fields
Your file should include one row per product or service.
| Field | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Product name | Yes | The customer-facing name of the item |
| Price | Yes | The unit price the AI can reference in conversations |
| Stock | Yes | The available quantity or inventory value |
| SKU | Recommended | A unique product code; Interlinked can generate one if it is missing |
If a required value such as stock is missing or cannot be identified for a product, the system may mark that value as 0. This is a safety behavior, not an ideal setup. Review the Products table after every import to confirm product names, prices, stock, and SKUs are correct.
Flexible column mapping
Interlinked supports flexible catalog structures. You do not need to use one exact column name as long as the file is clear and the values are consistent.
Interlinked can recognize common variations in column names. For example, a column named Product, Item name, or Product title may be mapped as the product name, as long as the values clearly identify each product.
Common mappings include:
| Catalog meaning | Common column names Interlinked may recognize |
|---|---|
| Product name | name, product, product name, item, item name, product title |
| Price | price, cost, unit price, sale price |
| Stock | stock, inventory, available units, quantity |
| SKU | sku, code, product id, item code |
Tip
Flexible mapping works best when each column has a clear purpose and consistent values. Clean and complete product data helps the AI agent answer more accurately.
Where to upload products
You can upload products from three places:
- Products page — https://panel.interlinked-ai.com/en/products. Best for ongoing catalog management after setup.
- First onboarding wizard — the Products step appears during initial setup for all users.
- AI Config wizard — go to https://panel.interlinked-ai.com/en/ai-config, click Launch wizard, then open the Products step.
Uploads from the wizard are immediate. They are not held as drafts and are not tied to publishing the rest of the wizard configuration.
After upload
Products appear in the Products table immediately after upload or changes. Interlinked then prepares the product data for AI search. For most catalogs, AI search preparation should complete within a few minutes. Very large catalogs or catalogs with extensive details can take longer.
As a practical expectation, allow a few minutes before testing every product with the AI agent, especially if your catalog contains tens of thousands of products or many detailed columns.
Before you upload
Before importing a file, check that:
- Product names are clear and customer-facing.
- Prices use a consistent format.
- Stock values are present and current.
- SKUs are unique when provided.
- Descriptions and attributes are included when they help customers decide.
- Products comply with applicable laws and Interlinked’s usage policies.
