What business hours control
Business hours define the recurring weekly windows that an appointment-capable agent can offer. They also control the Business Hours display mode in Calendar. Date-specific exceptions and existing Google Calendar events still apply on top of the weekly schedule.
Open the settings
- Open Calendar in Operations.
- Select Configure Business Hours from the toolbar or its More menu.
- Turn each day on or off.
- Adjust the time range for an open day.
- Select Save Hours.
The wizard also asks for availability when an appointment workflow requires it. For later changes, the Calendar toolbar is the most direct current path.

Configure each day
For every day of the week, you can:
- turn the day off so it is Closed;
- set one open time range; or
- add multiple ranges for split schedules such as morning and evening hours.
When you enable a day that has no saved schedule, the panel starts it with a default range of 09:00–18:00. Review the range before saving.
Use Apply to all when several days share a schedule. Check weekends separately if they follow a different pattern.
Business hours versus exceptions
Business hours are the recurring weekly schedule. An exception blocks or changes a specific date, date range, or recurring calendar date. A customer should be offered only a time that is open under both rules and is not busy in the connected calendar.
For a holiday, vacation, or one-off closure, create an exception instead of changing every weekly day.
After saving
Return to Calendar and switch between Business Hours and Full Day to check how the schedule displays. Then review Review agent readiness if the agent still reports a missing availability requirement.
