Connect channels during onboarding
Connect customer channels from the Interlinked onboarding wizard, then assign a ready agent before activating customer-facing responses.
NEEDS VALIDATION
This page includes product areas with mixed maturity or conditional behavior. Verify the current UI and tenant state before using it as external operating guidance.
What this onboarding step does
In the onboarding wizard, Connect and collaborate contains the channel connection screen and, when permitted, the teammate invitation screen. The exact channel step appears only when the workspace flow requires it.
Connecting an account makes it available to the workspace. It does not publish or activate the agent. The agent is created as a draft at the end of onboarding and can be assigned to a channel later from Channels or My Agents → Apps.
Connect a channel
- Select the available channel card and choose Connect.
- Complete the provider’s account and business-asset selection flow.
- Return to the wizard and verify the connected state.
- Repeat for any other channel you want to prepare.
The available cards are Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp Business. The provider flow can ask for different business account, Page, or phone-number requirements. Use the platform articles when a connection needs additional preparation.

What must happen later
The wizard’s final action is Create draft agent. It does not make the agent respond to customers. After the draft exists:
- assign the intended channel to the agent;
- complete any readiness requirements;
- publish the reviewed configuration; and
- use Validate and launch when you want customer-facing responses to begin.
See Manage connected channels and Publish and activate an AI agent.
If you skip the connection
If the channel is optional, you can continue and connect it later. If the selected workflow requires a customer channel or a calendar, the wizard or agent readiness card will keep that requirement visible.
For a failed provider flow, read Meta channel connection troubleshooting. Do not paste provider credentials or verification codes into Interlinked support messages.
